Introduction:
The Internet and the World Wide Web nowadays take a very important
role in education especially in teaching and learning process, as a tool for communication.
Through Internet it will help us communicate with other people all around the world instantly.
We, as a future educator must know how to adopt this web-based technology as one of the realities of today, that we are now dealing with a 21st century
learners who are constantly engage in the technology.
These learners are of digital age, updated and very knowledgeable of
all these kinds of technology. Learning through technology has become part of their lifestyle.
For these learners I think it could be an effective tool for instruction that we can use to makes our teaching and learning process more enjoyable, interesting and interactive. The learners could easily relate, be motivated to participate and engage themselves in the learning process.
So we, an educators should use them and know how to deal with it responsibly, that these learners find
the importance of these technology not for pleasure and waste of time but for their knowledge and the use of this for service, in whatever field they are in, in the future.
In short, the uses of technology and the knowledge that they have earned are very essential for our learner’s future success because without it they would be way behind in the real world.
If you want to communicate by using a computer on your network with a computer on a another network . Both the networks need to be connected. The Internet is a collection of networks that are connected together for exchange of information.
INTERNET
The Internet has transformed the way people communicate with each other. It has also revolutionized the way information is made available to the world. With the help of the World Wide Web, a popular service on the Internet, you can now access information from vast pool of resources in a few seconds. You can use Internet to perform your day-to-day personal tasks.
TOOLS FOR COMMUNICATION:
In my study, e-mail helps me a lot, especially as an irregular student. This is one of the instrument that I used in communicating my classmates who came from a different department. It is really hard for me to find them since we have different schedule, and we are not of the same batch. If we have a group work or an activity that we need to do or compile, I find it easy to share with them through e-mail. Our teacher also find it easy to post or sent his topic there for an advance reading and for our handouts too.
BLOG
When I first learn about blog, it really made me felt into an amazement since I do not have any plan making blog on my own. I was amaze because I learn how to make it, of course with the help of the you tube, google and etc. of course our teacher.
As a student, this blog becomes the source of information from our tackled lessons, and I found it very useful too in terms of sharing my own understanding, thoughts, opinions or experiences and knowledge about a certain topic that is being given to us.
This Chat is one of a very helpful tool for communication especially for us students and teachers for some important activities, projects, information or questions that we need to communicate.
One of the example of this is the group chat, wherein we share information to one another especially about activities in school, assignment, discussions or reports, clarification and any questions related to our topic. This provide immediate feedback to one or more students at a time. Through this we are also updated in school.
WIKIPEDIA
Wikipedia is one of the resources that I usually search especially for some definition and information we have from school. For some other reason also, I tried not to seek only in one sources, I tried also to compare it to the other, since I know that not all the information from Wikipedia are real .
These are the tools for communication that I usually used and very helpful to me in my study.
NOTE:
There's a lot of tools for communication that are very useful and effective instrument in education. The discovery of all this technology were somehow makes our life easier especially as a students and teachers. For just one click, the information that we needed are provided by the use of the Internet.
But, let us then remember that the use of all these things must be guided with proper discipline of ourselves, with great responsibility and limitations, so that this technology should not drive us into danger but make us a better person not a bitter person cause by some discoveries that is not a good influence for them.
These technology should be a great help instead for teachers to come up with creative ways to teach that help keeps the learners engage
And, as what they say whether we like it or not, technology is everywhere; and in order for our students to survive in post-secondary education and the business world, they must know technology.
